Short Film Making

About:

Good at Story Telling? Good at writing screen plays? Good at Acting? And do u have the knack to direct a movie? Guys, get together and make a short film! The screen is yours!

Theme : Will be updated

Rules:

  • Maximum 3 short films per Master Team.
    • Duration: 5 – 15 minutes. 
    • Participants are advised to avoid violence or negative themes in their short films.
    • Obscenity of any kind is not allowed and will lead to immediate disqualification.
    • Plagiarism is strictly prohibited. Sound track can be borrowed, but with due credit.
    • The movie should strongly adhere to the theme given.
    • Register your team with overall staff co coordinator.
    • Judges decision will be final. Any violation will result in elimination.

Marks will be assessed based on Story, Direction, Narration, Performance, Music or additional effects.

About:

Capturing a moment and preserving it forever, this is probably the greatest gift to mankind from mankind. Photography has developed tremendously over the past few years due to the leaps it has taken in the field of technology. But it’s not just technology that creates a beautiful moment, it’s the person behind the lens that does the real magic.

Format:

The Theme for the event will be updated and the photos should be clicked on the day of the event. Minimal editing is allowed. Participants should submit before and after effects photographs.

Rules:

  • The photo should adhere to the theme given.
  • Maximum 10 participants per Master Team.
  • 1 entry per participant.
  • Editing photos is strictly prohibited.
  • The photograph must not contain any obscene content.
  • Register yourself with overall staff co coordinator.
  • Judges decision will be final. Any violation will result in elimination.

Marks will be assessed based on Technique, Creativity, Composition / clarity of the photo.

Design an iconic cover at our Magazine Cover Design Event. Channel your creativity and captivate audiences with your innovative concepts and eye-catching visuals. Showcase your artistic flair and design prowess.

Format:

  • This is a solo event.
  • 5 participants from each Master team.

Rules:

  • Theme: Participants must create cover designs based on the specific theme
  • Time Limit: 1.30hrs
  • Materials: Participants must bring their own materials.

Judging Criteria: Judging will be based on creativity, composition, originality, and adherence to the theme.

About:

Reel It Right is a digital marketing challenge where teams must create an engaging and impactful Instagram reel to promote a given product. From concept to execution, this event tests your storytelling skills, marketing instincts, and content creation flair—all within a few seconds of screen time.

 Rules:

  • 4 Teams per master team
  • 2 - 4 Members per team
  • Product details will be shared on the spot
  • 5 hourswill be given to conceptualize, shoot, and edit the reel
  • The final reel must be between 20 to 60 seconds
  • Use of mobile phones onlyfor shooting and editing
  • No use of pre-recorded footageor external templates
  • Content must be original, relevant, and appropriatefor all audiences
  • Reels will be judged on creativity, clarity of message, relevance to the product, and engagement potential
  • Judges’ decision is final. Any violation will result in elimination

Wrapper redesign focuses on improving the visual appeal and functionality of packaging while maintaining the product’s identity. An effective wrapper redesign helps attract customers, communicate brand values, and stand out in the market.

Format:

  • This is a solo event.
  • 3 participants from each Master team.

Rules:

  • Theme: Participants must create cover designs based on the specific theme
  • Time Limit: 1.30hrs
  • Materials: Participants must bring their own materials.

 Judging will be based on creativity, composition, originality, and adherence to the theme.

About:
Teams will create and record a 5-minute “pilot episode” on a given topic (for example, “Life in Namakkal” or “Quantum Computing for Dummies”).

Rules:

  • This is a solo event
  • 5 participants per Master Team.
  • Time limit: 4+1 mins
  • Judges decision will be final. Any violation will result in elimination.

Judging Criteria: Judging will be based on Idea originality and relevance, Clarity of pitch and appropriate use of humor

About:
The prompt engineering battle tests participants’ ability to craft effective prompts to generate accurate and creative AI outputs. Students will compete to design the most effective AI prompts to generate a specific and complex output, such as a detailed image or a 30-second music loop (e.g., “Paavai in 2050”).

  • Time limit: 1.30 hours
  • Topic will be given on the spot
  • Judges decision will be final. Any violation will result in elimination.
